Join us as we pray daily through the season of Lent as we commemorate Christ’s journey and ultimate loving sacrifice for us.
Day 1—Wednesday, February 14
Pray for the Lenten Season at GCC. Pray that each member would be called back to focus on God; His love, sacrifice, and holiness; and God’s call on his or her life. Pray that we would hear God’s voice clearly and be able to live in the shadow of the cross.
Day 2—Thursday, February 15
Pray for Pastor Mike. Pray that God would give him wisdom as he leads our congregation, vision for our future, and strength for the journey. Pray for him as he leads us into the Season of Lent.
Day 3—Friday, February 16
Pray for parents and families of children and youth in our church. Pray that God would give them grace, strength, and insight as they lead their children to walk with Him. Pray that they might find love and support at our church
Day 4—Saturday, February 17
Pray for our children. Pray that God would use this season to plant seeds in their hearts, arouse their spiritual curiosity, and know His love for them.
Day 5—Monday, February 18
Pray for our Pastor Rene and Pastor Camille, and their ministry to young adults. Pray that young adults and college students would find support, encouragement, and friendship at GCC. Pray that they might develop a passion for service and find ministries that would use their strengths. Please pray each Monday during Lent for our local church’s ministry to Glendora and to our neighborhoods near the church.
Day 6—Tuesday, February 19
Pray for those in our church who are sick. Pray that God would bring them healing, strength, and grace for each day.
Day 7—Wednesday, February 20
Pray for Pastor Camille, our Children’s Minister. Pray that God would give her clarity of speech as she explains Easter to our children, patience as she works with them, and rest for her body, mind, and soul.
Day 8—Thursday, February 22
Pray for the single parents in our church. Pray that God would give each of them strength and grace, wisdom and endurance. Pray that God would show each of us how to be the support and family they need.
Day 9—Friday, February 23
Pray for Kaydee Schilz, who is our nursery director and a busy mom. Pray God’s blessings on her and her whole family: her husband Mike, and children Grace, Landon, Forrest and Chet.
Day 10—Saturday, February 24
Pray for those in our church who are grieving. Pray that God would use the Lenten season to renew their hope, strengthen their hearts as they live minute by minute and day by day, and give them a new vision of the beauty of heaven.
Day 11—Monday, February 26
Pray for our youth group. Pray that God would bring unity to the group, that they would have joy in serving together, and that they would reach out to their friends. Pray also today for our church’s ministry to Glendora, its schools, and its students.
Day 12—Tuesday, February 27
Pray for the Mission Fields where our congregation has helped to build new facilities. Pray that God would use these buildings and renovations to spread His love and to accomplish His purposes. These mission projects are in: Bolivia, Bulgaria, Belize, Myanmar, Nepal and Micronesia.
Day 13—Wednesday, February 28
Pray for our CONNECT volunteers who prepare meals so that the joy of fellowship would happen on Wednesday nights.
Day 14—Thursday, February 29 (Leap Year Day!)
Pray for our Men’s Ministry. Pray that they might be an encouragement to each other, hold each other accountable, and might find ways to reach out to other men.
Day 15—Friday, March 1
Pray for our college students. Pray that we might be a home to the college students who attend GCC, a source of encouragement to them and a safe place for them to grow. Pray that God would bring more students to our church, students who need to be surrounded by a loving community.
Day 16—Saturday, March 2
Pray for More than a Meal ministry. Pray that God would provide food, clothing, and supplies that we might minister to the poor of our community. Pray that all of our hearts would be burdened by the homeless around us and that we might be moved to action.
Day 17—Monday, March 4
Pray for Woven, our women’s ministry. Pray that they might be an encouragement to each other and a safe place where women can be vulnerable. Pray for our church’s ministry to Glendora and the local colleges – APU and Citrus.
Day 18—Tuesday, March 5
Pray for our Choir and there leader, Alan DeVries. Pray that each member would be blessed for their many hours of service, and that each would grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus. Pray that God would use them to help lead and inspire us to worship with joy and gladness.
Day 19—Wednesday, March 6
Pray for our church finances. Pray that God would continue to meet every need of our church and give us wisdom as we use our resources. Pray that we would be challenged to live more and more sacrificially so that we might share more with others.
Day 20—Thursday, March 7
Pray for our worship services, that God would be present in ways that allow us to know that “it has been good to be in the house of the Lord.” Pray for those who attend on-line, and do not get to experience the fellowship and the unique joy of being able to be present with other worshipers.
Day 21—Friday, March 8
Pray for Kevin and Janet Wilkins who are currently serving in the Philippines. Pray that God would bless their ministry and the relationship they are forming with the people there.
Day 22—Saturday, March 9
Pray for our Spectrum class. Pray that they might continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus as they study the Bible. Pray that they might be an encouragement to each other and to our younger generation of believers.
Day 23—Monday, March 11
Pray for our Faithbuilders class. Pray that God would give them grace as they continue to walk beside their adult children. Pray that God would bless them as they serve in their different ministries and look for new ways to serve others. Pray for our church’s ministry to Glendora. Pray that wherever our people are, that they are a light pointing to the love of Jesus Christ.
Day 24—Tuesday, March 12
Pray for our church board. Pray that God would give them wisdom and guidance as they lead and serve our church.
Day 25—Wednesday, March 13
Pray for our office manager, Gloria Lopez. Pray that she will feel encouraged and supported in all the tasks she performs for our congregation. Please thank the Lord for those who volunteer in our church office as well.
Day 26—Thursday, March 14
Pray for us to be intentionally hospitable. Pray that people who walk on our GCC campus would feel welcomed, loved, and accepted. Pray that each of us would reach out to new guests in whatever ways we can.
Day 27—Friday, March 15
Pray for our GCC’s young families. Pray that young couples might be an encouragement to each other and that God would bring new families to our church.
Day 28—Saturday, March 16
Pray for our New Kidz Kamp this June. Pray that it would be a fun time of learning about Jesus. Pray that it would attract families without church homes and that they will feel welcomed.
Day 29—Monday, March 18
Pray for our witness to Glendora. Pray that we would have a reputation of love, integrity, and service.
Day 30—Tuesday, March 19
Pray for our nursery. Pray that God would fill our nursery with tiny new lives and that we might faithfully guide them as they grow up in the faith.
Day 31—Wednesday, March 20
Pray for our ministry to emancipated foster youth at Citrus College. Pray for opportunities to form relationships with them. Pray that we might be a safe place for them to heal and grow.
Day 32—Thursday, March 21
Pray for the older adults in our church. Pray that they would find friendship and support from our congregation, and a place of service in which they can use their unique gifts.
Day 33—Friday, March 22
Pray for the homes of every GCC member, that they may be filled with God’s joy and peace. Pray that we would use our homes to show hospitality to our friends and neighbors.
Day 34—Saturday, March 23
Pray for our Church Board and the new leaders who will begin their service in April. Pray that we all will build each other up in unity and encouragement.
Day 35—Monday, March 25
Pray for our neighborhood. Pray that God would bless our neighbors through us, and that we might reach out with Radical Hospitality. Pray that our church campus and our church members will show Christ’s love to our community of Glendora.
Day 36—Tuesday, March 26
Pray that God would make us compassionate people, willing to suffer with the broken-hearted. Pray that God would open our eyes to those who are hurting around us.
Day 37—Wednesday, March 27
Pray that we would realize our true identity in Christ and would boldly live as God’s Beloved.
Day 38—Maundy Thursday, March 28
Pray that God would show us how to give thanks in everything and how to experience the miracle of communion with Him. Pray that we would see Christ as our model of Servant Love.
Day 39—Good Friday, March 29
Pray that God would give each of us a broken heart of repentance as we prepare for Easter. Pray that God’s presence and grace would be felt by all who attend the Tenebrae service tonight.
Day 40—Saturday, March 30
Pray that Easter at GCC would be a glorious time of celebrating our risen Savior! That people who visit the worship services either on-line or in person are inspired to give their lives to Christ and serve them with full devotion.
